Viburnum lantana - Wayfaring Tree Viburnum

Leaves - Opposite, simple ovate or oblong-ovate, 2 to 5 inches long, acute or obtuse, cordate to rounded at base, rather closely denticulate, sparingly pubescent and wrinkled above, tomentose beneath, petiole 2/5 to 1 1/5 inches long. Veins deeply set.

Buds - Naked, foliose, whitish tomentose.

Stem - Young branches lightly-colored, scurfy-pubescent, older branches gray, usually heavily lenticelled.

Fruit - Bluish-black drupe persisting into winter.

Flower - White, flat topped cymes, 3-5 inches in diameter.
