CAPRIFOLIACEAE
Viburnum trilobum - American Cranberrybush Viburnum
Leaves - Opposite, simple, broad ovate, 2-5 inches long, rounded or truncate at base, lobes acuminate, coarsely dentate, sometimes the middle lobe elongated and entire pilose on the veins beneath or nearly glabrous, petiole 2/5 -1 1/5 inches long, with shallow groove and small domeshaped, usually stalked glands.
Buds - Similar to V. opulus, sometimes sticky, green-reddish and smooth.
Stem - Gray, glabrous, with a waxy appearance.
Flower - 3 to 4½ inches diameter, white, flat topped cymes.
Fruit - Bright red, berrylike drupe, edible, used in jellies.
