Ribes odoratum - Clove Currant

Leaves - Alternate, simple, ovate, deeply 3 to 5 lobed, with coarsely dentate lobes, fall color more scarlet.

Twigs - Young branches, pubescent but unarmed like R. alpinum.

Growth Habit - More spreading shrub than R. alpinum.

Flowers - Yellow, fragrant with smell of cloves, borne in 5-10 flowered racemes.

Fruit - A black berry 1/3 inch across on female plants.
