Ribes alpinum - Alpine Currant

Leaves - Alternate, simple, roundish or ovate, lobed 3 rarely 5, with obtuse or acute dentate lobes.

Twigs - Chestnut brown, often shiny with conspicuous ridges running down from edges of leaf scars.

Flowers - Greenish-yellow in upright racemes with sexes on separate plants.

Growth Habit - Dense, compact shrub with stiffly upright stems and spreading branches.
